Learning through Knowledge Exchange
InterGenic

About the project
InterGenic aims to develop an educational framework for intergenerational learning to support the EU’s digital and green transitions.
Its objectives are to improve the transfer of digital skills from young to old, to revitalize sustainable practices taught by seniors to young people, to propose local solutions for the dual transition and to raise awareness while bridging the epistemic social gap between generations.
InterGenic has 4 main types of actions: training young mentors in digital competences, training senior mentors in sustainable practices, developing and testing joint actions for local solutions and raising awareness and bridging the generation gap. The project will involve participants from seven EU countries and will include training packages, piloting, joint actions and communication and dissemination efforts.
Objectives
To contribute to the EU digital policy strategy by supporting the ability of young people across Europe to transfer their digital skills and knowledge to other generations.
To contribute to the objectives of the EU’s Green Transition policy by supporting the capacity of senior citizens across Europe to pass on traditional sustainable practices to other generations.
Development and testing of an educational framework based on joint action by young people and senior citizens, which will propose local solutions related to the EU double transition.
Raising awareness of the challenges and opportunities of the transition to the future and bridging the generation gap.
Results
Development and implementation of two capacity-building actions (one for junior mentors and one for senior mentors), accompanied by jointly designed training packages in each case.
Implementation of 7 intergenerational joint actions across Europe. Proposals are expected for 7 locally co-created solutions solutions for the double transition
Publishing an e-book of best practices
Public awareness actions throughout the project
